A Chinese Gold and Silver 'Phoenix and Cloud' Hairpin, Zan, Yuan-Ming Dynasty

元-明 鳳踏祥雲銀脚金簪
Yuan-Ming Dynasty (1206-1644)
The long, flat silver pin ending in a gold phoenix terminal, the phoenix bird molded in two halves and joined in the middle, the body chased and embossed to show round eyes, a long beak, detailed feathers on wings and long tail, stepping above clusters of auspicious clouds.

鳳釵與鳳簪,宋代起頻頻現於詩詞,元代形制沿宋,本品係延續辽金已有的造型:祥云上立舞鳳,两枚金片分别打造成形,然后扣合一处,颈上披羽飞扬,御風而行,很有動勢。喙有小孔,或可串珠。
