Depicting the East Coast from the Chesapeake Bay to Savannah, Crevecoeur's map was printed for inclusion in his Voyage dans la Haute Pennsylvanie. A thin strip of land labeled "United States Territory" extends westward from South Carolina between Georgia and Kentucky; formerly part of South Carolina, it was ceded to the United States in 1787.
