First English edition of Bion's encyclopedic reference on 18th-century mathematical instruments, complete with 26 folding engraved plates, which include rulers, protractors, surveying devices and navigational instruments. Some light marginal brownspotting; light edgewear to boards with some loss to lower board; heavy foxing to plates 14, 18, and 25, and pp. 249-264.
