Lot Description

A Pair of Chinese Parcel Gilt Silver 'Bird and Foliate' Hairpins, Chai, Tang Dynasty
唐 鎏金卷草飛鳥紋銀釵一對
Tang Dynasty (618-907)

Each has two long cylindrical prongs joined by a lotus blossom, extending to a short twist, ending in a flat spade-form terminal decorated with a gilt highlighted flying long-tail bird on one side, foliate scrolls on the other, all reserved on a background of slightly raised bosses.
