A Chinese Carved White and Russet Jade 'Scholars' Snuff Bottle, 18th Century

The stone of pebble form and warm white tone, suffused with golden brown russet, carved on one side with a scholar with a goose, possibly Wang Xizhi, the other side depicting a scholar in front of a small furnace, a mysterious smoke with bats rising from the vessel, the concave foot ring well carved. Lacquer stopper; later wood stand.
Height including stopper 2 9/16 in., 6.5 cm.
