ROMAN TORSO OF A HERO C. 2nd Century AD
Cast bronze, shown nude, standing with the arms helds away from the sides, the back is recessed, suggesting the piece may have been a decorative inlay, there is an old collection label (now largely illegible) with the date "1892" visible. Raised on an old marble mount.
H: 5 in.Provenance: Private collection, France, acquired 19th century.
The Jeff Hunter Collection, New York, acquired on the French art market, 1990's.
