Lot Description
A Pair of Original Vintage 1985 Nike Air Jordan 1 Basketball Shoes
In 1984, Chicago Bulls rookie Michael Jordan signed a marketing contract with shoe manufacturer Nike that would change the landscape of sports forever. During his first campaign with the Bulls, Jordan donned the groundbreaking Peter Moore-designed Air Jordans and was subsequently fined $5,000 by the NBA for violating the league's uniform policy. The NBA prevented Jordan from wearing the black and red colorway and unintentionally succeeded in driving the public's demand to own a pair of the "banned" kicks. The shoes were an immediate sensation up their April 1985 release.

Preserved since their original display in a suburban Chicago sports goods store in 1985, these iconic pair of size 8 unworn Nike Air Jordan I basketball shoes have outstanding visual appeal and feature an original display price tag of $64.95 incredibly discounted to $39.95.

A remarkably well-preserved piece of Jordan history.
