Antique German Gewehr 1888 S Commission Rifle by Erfurt
World War I
Patrone 88 (8mm). 29.5" barrel length. SN: 9410V. Blued military finish. Walnut stock has a plain straight grip and forearm with single barrel band. Bolt action rifle with adjustable folding ladder notch rear sight and blade front sight. Item features an integrated magazine, double sling swivels, bayonet lug on right side, and a slotted head cleaning rod. Markings include an 1891 date and roll marked S to receiver. Forend cap is marked 66.R.1.13. on left side, possibly regimental marks. Receiver has notch cut away to front, and stripper clip guides to rear indicating it was converted sometime after 1905.

Condition Report
Good. Bore is frosty. Finish shows mottled losses, scattered clusters of pitting, and light scratches overall. Wood stock also shows light scratches, mars, and losses.
