Lot Description

**Refinished Trocaola Aranzabal Old Pattern Revolver (Spanish Webley Copy)

World War I

.455 Webley. 5" ribbed barrel. SN: 367. Blued metal finish. Grips do not appear to be original, and are checkered hard rubber with a circled 1914 to both sides. Double action break top revolver with notch and blade sights. Item features a military lanyard ring and fluted 6-shot cylinder. Markings include both Spanish manufacturer marks and British import marks stamped to metal.

These models were manufactured on contract for the British army during World War I. By 1921 they were all retracted from British service and around 90,000 were rechambered in .44 Russian for use by the Romanian army.

This lot is located in Cincinnati.
